A final decision has been made by Rockland officials about some homes in Stony Point destroyed by Hurricane Sandy.
More than 100 homes along the town's shore were left devastated by flooding conditions by the superstorm in 2012.
Although most of the homes have been repaired, nine remain boarded up, serving as a reminder of the storm's destruction.
Town Supervisor Geoff Finn says that the safest option is to demolish the homes. "We are going to be removing these homes, and we will try to do that without having any cost to the taxpayers or homeowners," says Finn.
