Summerlike heat and humidity arrive on Thursday

Temperatures and humidity levels will rise under mostly sunny skies. Will the showers stay away, especially for the upcoming weekend?

If you're a fan of summer heat and humidity, Thursday will be the day for you.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW:

While the temperatures and humidity levels rise on Thursday, the air quality will go down. Due to elevated amounts of fine particulates in the air (from a combination of wildfire smoke and increased temperatures and humidity levels) it will be a little difficult to breathe if you have heart and/or respiratory issues, are the very young or the elderly. Take it easy if you happen to go out and about and avoid strenuous activity in general tomorrow. Expect mostly sunny skies through the day with a very small chance of a passing shower south of I-84 in the afternoon hours.

Friday is still warm, just not as warm as Thursday, with humidity. There will be scattered shower chances for the late day hours as a system approaches.

That system will bring rain chances for both Saturday and Father's Day on Sunday. Will both days be washouts? No. But there will need to be a back up plan for any outdoor plans, especially to celebrate the dad in your life.

THURSDAY: A mix of sun and clouds with an increase in humidity. There is an Air Quality Alert in effect throughout the day for the entire region. Highs: mid-80s. Lows: low 60s.

FRIDAY: Partly sunny to mostly cloudy with a chance for late day showers. Highs: upper 70s to low 80s. Lows: upper 50s to low 60s.

SATURDAY: WEATHER TO WATCH - FLAG DAY - Mostly cloudy with a chance for showers. Highs: low to mid 70s. Lows: upper 50s to low 60s.

SUNDAY: FATHER'S DAY - Mostly cloudy with a chance for showers. Highs: upper 60s to low 70s. Lows: upper 50s.

MONDAY: Mostly cloudy with a chance for scattered showers. Highs: upper 60s to low 70s. Lows: mid to upper 50s.

TUESDAY: Mix of sun and clouds. Highs: low to mid-70s. Lows: mid to upper 50s.

WEDNESDAY: Mix of sun and clouds. Highs: upper 70s to low 80s. Lows: upper 60s.
