The family of a teenager who took his life less than a year ago is hoping to help save the lives of other children.
Dozens turned out Sunday at the Knights of Columbus building in Blauvelt to remember Tappan Zee High School student Jimmy Haubauger and to raise money for a memorial foundation in his name.
Haubauger took his life last September. His parents are working on a number of initiatives to help kids dealing with cyber-bullying.
The Haubauger family says they also wanted to give back Sunday, and awarded five graduating seniors from their son's school each a $1,000 scholarship.
The students were nominated based on something kind they did for someone else.
