Study finds big increase in suicidal ingestions among pre-adolescent kids
A troubling new study points to a big increase in suicides among younger Americans.
The study published in JAMA Pediatrics found deaths among kids just 10 to 12 years old quadrupled between 2000 and 2020.
The culprit was medications or other substances that are being ingested.
The reason remains unclear.
Researchers did note that the sharp increase coincided with the rise of social media.
