White Plains Kid Safety Day kicked off today with the purpose of teaching students about summer safety.
Motivational speaker John O'Leary, who was severely injured in a fire at 9 years old, spoke to campers at the Bits N Pieces Day Camp program.
The children who took part in the program learned about fire and chemical safety hazards.
They also learned about bike safety, first aid and water safety.
