The flu is being blamed for the death of a 22-year-old political activist in Orange County.

Rebekah Grohl, of Newburgh, died Sunday after being diagnosed with the flu just days earlier.

Grohl worked on several recent political campaigns, including one for state Sen. James Skoufis.

A Go Fund Me page has since raised more than $16,000 for her family.
