A cold and mostly cloudy night sets the stage for Wednesday’s fast-moving storm, with temperatures dipping into the 20s.
By late morning, northern areas may see spotty snow showers before the main system arrives in the afternoon. Snow will mix with rain across southern sections, while communities north and west are likely to pick up 3–6 inches of wet snow during the evening commute. Southern Westchester and Rockland should remain mostly wet with no expected accumulation.
Gusty winds between 25–30 mph will add to the reduced visibility through the day.
Conditions turn colder but dry on Thursday, followed by a slightly colder Friday with weakening winds and a chance for light snow Friday night into early Saturday.
We’re also watching the potential for another round of snow on Sunday, though confidence remains low—stay with us as we monitor how that system develops.
OVERNIGHT: Mostly cloudy, gusty periods, still cold. Lows in the 20s.
WEDNESDAY: Cloudy, a chance for snow showers in the north during the morning hours. Otherwise, expect snow and rain mixing for areas in the south in the afternoon and evening commute. Winds will be gusty at times, reaching 25-30 mph gusts. Highs in the low 40s. Lows in the 20s.
THURSDAY: Colder, sunshine and clouds mixing, and windy. Wind gusts will be near 30 mph. Highs in the upper 30s. Lows in the low 20s.
