A system is gradually moving into the region today, with a warm front associated with it passing through this morning. This front will come to a halt over the region though today. As a result, we won't have temperatures warming up, but we will have moisture moving in. This moisture will slowly move in though, creating lowered visibility, especially in the morning hours. A dense fog advisory is in effect for the morning hours around I-84 and southward as visibility may be as low as 0.25 miles or less. Showers will be spotty in the morning but become sporadic in the afternoon hours with a few downpours possible. For the morning hours though, with temps near the freezing point, black ice and slick surfaces will be possible.

There will be a few more systems we'll be watching coming towards the Hudson Valley. One comes Friday, bringing mixed showers throughout much of the day. Another one arrives Sunday and could linger into Monday. There is higher confidence in Friday's storm happening while Sunday-Monday's storm has had its chances of impacting us going down. It is something worth monitoring though as many people will be returning from vacations this week and may face travel disruptions Sunday.

Temperatures will be trending at or above the freezing point of 32 degrees through the next 10 days. That is the good news. The bad news is that temps will dip below 32 degrees nearly every night during that stretch. Meaning that any snow melt or lingering shower moisture will refreeze and cause slick/icy spots to pop-up nearly daily.
