Parts of the borough got close to 70 degrees on Friday, continuing the warmup the last few days. The warmup accelerates into a summer surge for Saturday.
It will be a true taste of summer Saturday afternoon with highs near 85 degrees away from the water across northern parts of the borough. The last time it was 84 degrees or hotter was on Sept. 19, 212 days ago.
A sea breeze does develop after 1 p.m., dropping temperatures from near 80 degrees to the low-70s at the coast. There will be more clouds through the afternoon and evening, but rain showers are expected mostly miss the borough. A stray shower can't be ruled out around sunset, otherwise it gets noticeably colder through Saturday night, as this is a cold front.
The cold front will just drop temperatures but not bring showers Saturday night. It will still be above average in the mid- to upper-60s on Sunday, but not as warm as Saturday. No rain expected, so egg hunts will be good to go weather-wise.
Expect these warmer temperatures to finally stick around for good as next week expect plenty of 70s as the forecast stands as of Friday night. Monday starts chilly in the upper-50s, but a warm front will bring a few showers Monday night, and upper-70s on Tuesday. Temperatures in the 70s are expected for the rest of the workweek.
