News 12 Storm Watch Meteorologist Sam Augeri says there could be some leftover rain early Saturday ahead of a sunny start to next week.
ALERTS: Flood Watch is up until 6 a.m. Saturday for both counties.
A coastal flood advisory is up until 12 p.m. Saturday for South Nassau County.
RIP CURRENTS: High Rip Current risk for both counties through Saturday evening.
WHAT'S NOW: Heavy rain breaks down and move further eastward.
WHAT'S NEW: There is concern with how overnight into Saturday morning will be. Some of the computer models show the heavy rain moving back this way as the remnant moisture of what was Tropical Storm Ophelia, gets pulled back westward. If that trend pans out, there will be a risk of an additional 1-2”+ of rain by Saturday midday. Flooding would become a big concern if we get anymore rain.
WHAT'S NEXT: After Saturday, high pressure moves in and hangs around for a while. As a result, beautiful weather will last all workweek
