45ds agoThe rest of the evening will feature gusty showers and storms. Rainfall could approach 1 inch. A few spots might see higher amounts, and this may lead to some street flooding.
The storm system will pivot through the region tonight and strengthen as it pulls away tomorrow. That means the rain will clear up tonight, but the winds will come back even stronger for Friday.
Halloween will be a dry and partly sunny day with whipping winds.
The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for Fairfield and Litchfield counties. Gusts will range from 40-45 mph for Fairfield County and up to 50 mph for Litchfield.
Quieter and sunnier weather returns for a few days. Temperatures will be seasonable. There is a risk of some rain again early next week.
COASTAL FLOOD ADVISORY: Thursday 4 p.m.-8 p.m. for minor flooding during the evening high tide cycle. Inundation of up to 1 ft of water above ground level. Most vulnerable areas along the waterfront will be impacted.
