STORM WATCH

Village of Elmsford declares state of emergency due to heavy rains and flooding.

After significant flooding, a much better day ahead for Tuesday

Please use extreme caution overnight, as scattered areas of flooding can lead to dangerous or potentially life-threatening travel.

Showers may linger late into the overnight with sunshine breaking out by daybreak Tuesday.
Road closures from flooding are still possible. Remember, never drive through a flooded roadway, turn around, don't drown.
Tomorrow and Wednesday will be better, but both days still come with a pop-up shower or downpour chance in the afternoon and evening. It will be much more isolated in nature than today.
The heat also builds midweek. It can feel like the mid to upper 90s Wednesday through Friday. Thursday will also be our next more active day of weather with scattered showers and thunderstorms. Another more spotty thunderstorm chance will arrive Friday.
I think Saturday will be the best day this week, but as you plan ahead for the weekend keep in mind that there will be an increasing chance for showers throughout the day on Sunday.
