City. All right, let's bring hope back for another check of that hyper local forecast and the bitter blast. We're all feeling it's been a while since we've seen temperatures really this low hope and, you know, we know about the gloves and the hat and the scarf, but there's some other tips we need to probably remember. Yeah, definitely. You know, these cold temperatures are going to take us through at least tomorrow and then things start to turn around by the end of the week. But in the meantime, try to limit your time outdoors if you can. Again, the coldest time of day is during the morning hours. So if you have to go outside, just dress in layers, bundle up. And also if you are taking your car, try to warm it up ahead of time so that you're not getting into a cold vehicle and just be aware that you can also winterize your home, getting your home ready for the winter season by making sure that everything is insulated correctly. Check on your check on the elderly and the pets as they are susceptible to hypothermia and very cold temperatures that we are experiencing right now, over the next couple of hours still stuck in the thirties overnight, it gets even colder, feeling like the teens waking up tomorrow morning. So even though that's a thermometer is going to be 28 it's gonna feel like the teens 15 to 20 degrees out there over portions of the borough and even the city, the blustery winds is what's making it feel even colder tomorrow afternoon won't feel as harsh temperatures in upper thirties, near 40 degrees, a blend of sun and clouds but still cold and breezy throughout the day. Tomorrow, we're going to see the sunshine. Some clouds begin to filter in late but still going remain dry. Thursday. Your best bet to really go outside. Enjoy the sunshine and the slightly milder temperatures we're welcoming back the forties. So that's something that you can look forward to a little bit milder on our Friday. But this time it comes with some rain. So it looks like the best chance to start seeing some wet weather move into our area will be Friday afternoon, even lingering into Friday evening. Saturday does start off dry, but it looks like we're ending the weekend with some wet weather even continuing into early next week.

All right. Well, let's check back in now. We are dealing with this bitter blast still. We're checking in with teen meteorologist Scott Skoff. Now, Scott, you said today is not the end of these cold temperatures. I know it's the holiday season so I need to just get used to it. But man, yeah, there's a song that comes to mind. Follow la la la, la, la la oy because that's what we're looking at with colder temperatures. Even on the way into tomorrow, we're gonna be seeing these feels like temps staying in the twenties. But as we go to the end of the week, things are gonna be warmer but it comes with a catch rain is on the way, but those feels like temps can be the twenties all day long. So bundle up, keep yourself warm layer, have your jacket, your gloves, your scarf or hand warmers, reduce your time outside even with your furry friends too. Because as we go into the rest of the day today, we are going to be seeing these temperatures drop into the teens. That's what it's going to feel like for the start of your hump day tomorrow. So definitely even colder air ahead of us as we are looking at. Yes, a little bit of, I say it's snow. These have produced snow squall warnings over in northeast Pennsylvania and northwestern New Jersey. These snow showers are continuing to push on in towards us here in the city and you could even see those snow bands look to the north and west. This is a view from Kingsbridge and the Bronx. You can see those snow bands moving towards the city. So definitely the possibility is there towards the afternoon. I'm thinking between two and six o'clock in the afternoon, it's going to be some festive flakes, nothing accumulating but still be pretty to look at. And if you want to send your pictures in because it is going to be beautiful and by 67 o'clock should be done, we are going to be seeing that cold air come on and going to be in the twenties by the morning will feel like the teens and with that wind, that's going to be the big driving factor behind it. 20 to 30 mile per hour gusts through the rest of the day today and that will be lingering into tomorrow as well. So it's gonna be cold, it's going to be windy. It's gonna feel like the twenties even though the high temperature around 40 degrees with those blustery brisk winds gusts up to 30 MPH twenties overnight. But we feel like the teens because that breezy wind and all that cold air, the good news is we are going to be seeing that feels like temp go way up Thursday into the forties. So that's light at the end of the tunnel and then Friday fifties with the chance of rain. Same story, Sunday, Monday with milder temperatures as we enter the month of December on Friday.

Michelle Powers is here with more on what we can expect. So how cold will it get Michelle? All right. Well, tonight, we're talking about temperatures in the twenties, but it's the wind chills that will be in the teens. Waking up tomorrow morning. We're taking a look here at our futurecast by five and 6 a.m. This will be the worst of it. But good news is, this is very temporary. Tomorrow is another cold day. So as we go throughout the afternoon, temperatures will barely warm. Today, we had 40 tomorrow. I don't think we'll even come close to 40 temperatures staying in the thirties but feels like the twenties. That's what those blue numbers represent right now. Let's take a look outside. It's, it's quiet. It's gorgeous tonight in Norwalk, it's 34 degrees already and 34 feels like 22. So that's the catch we're going to see this again for tomorrow. But then temperatures turn around later in the week. We have had some festive flakes today. Take a look at this picture from Gene in Watertown of some snow that fell like snow, but still snow and nonetheless, and it just added to that winter feel. So temperatures feeling like the twenties everywhere right now and the festive flakes they're going away for now, but they could start to come back tomorrow. And as you're out driving on the local roadways, we know it is going to be cold Christy. When do you think the temperatures are going to warm up just a little bit? I mean, as we enter into a weekend, they pick up, but that comes with some rain, unfortunately, but we see that our radar over the past six hours is showing some flurries really over across the area. But that is going to be continuing through today and tomorrow, really mostly northwestern New York and Pennsylvania are seeing the snow, but we can't rule out flurries throughout the day today as well as to tomorrow. We see it coming across and that comes with some bitterly cold temperatures across the area. And this is our, feels like versus our regular temperatures, regular temperatures on the left over here in our blue cold feels like temperatures. So what you need to know is these frigid temperatures continue. This is later in our evening tonight, around dinner time, we're seeing temperatures in the upper twenties and low thirties, but feeling like they're in the twenties, 22 in Newburgh and Poughkeepsie. And that is going to drop even more. As we head into our overnight hours, this is 1045 starting to get into the teens in some spots. Brewster seeing 17 and it's gonna be even colder for tomorrow. So you're gonna wanna keep that in mind for your commute tomorrow morning. This is 6 a.m. feeling like 16 out there. So definitely bundle up and be prepared if you're heading when you're heading out the door. And then by your afternoon, those temperatures still stay pretty cold with some wind gusts of around 20 miles an hour. And we can't rule out some accumulation really northwestern Ulster County, seeing between one and three inches, really not much and flurries passing throughout the rest of the day and we see some rain chances pick up for Friday. But with that, our temperatures are also on the rise thankfully and it's really a turnaround from today. Don't be fooled by this temperature. It's feeling like the twenties out there frigid and then a really big switch into Friday. Our temperatures jump up and some rain can return for your weekend. Let's take a look at your 10 day forecast. Now, we've got a frigid and cold Wednesday for you with some gust winds and temperatures are on the rise into the weekend with some chance for rain for your Friday and we're back to seasonable temperatures through next week.

All right, chilly cold that says it. All right there. We have to think of our pets too when it's this cold, you know, walking them. You see all the dogs around town with their little jackets on. You guys need your jackets. We have one more day of the really cold stuff coming up and then temperatures will rebound a little bit. So through tomorrow we have this bitter blast. Temperatures are about 10 degrees below normal. Tomorrow morning will actually be a little bit colder temps in the twenties, feeling more like 15 for most of the day today, we had chills in the twenties. So tomorrow morning at 6 a.m. 30 degrees from Glen Cove, 29 ice up feeling like 22. It will feel like 24 degrees and about 20 from orient to Montauk. So another cold day, but it's dry in the afternoon. We struggle to get to 40 for most of the day. Wind chills are in the twenties. It will be a little bit brighter than today. We have more sunshine and we got our first flurries of the season this afternoon. Any flurries right now are ending. We have some big lake effect snow bands to our north west and that's where that snow will stay. So tonight, mostly clear, sunny, start to your Wednesday. The afternoon looks fine. More of a west southwest wind late. So it won't be as cold as we head into Thursday. Thursday is my pick of the week for that sunshine, dry conditions. Very nice. And then a round of rain will come in. This is Friday evening. So Friday evening, we have rain clearing on Saturday. The weather will get a little bit unsettled after that early next week, but it's warmer. We make our way back up into the fifties.

Winter. You know me, I love snow. I'm a big fan of the snow. I'm a big fan of the cold. I know everybody out there follows my social media knows where I stand when it comes to the, or, or, or the pumpkin spice lattes. Uh Yeah, not so much. Let's see where the four listen, we've got a few more days of colder temperatures. Ok. We start to see a little bit of a recovery once we get towards Friday. But you know, tonight, tomorrow going into uh Thursday, we're still dealing with temperatures that are below average and we are still going to be looking for wind chills that will make it feel a lot chillier out there at present. Most of New Jersey dealing with mainly clear skies. However, I can't rule out the opportunity for a, I'd say an early evening flurry as those gusty winds continue to push some of those snow streamers in our direction. There's a possibility we might be looking at a snowflake here or there up until about, let's say sunset and then we're going to look for a mainly clear sky. Tonight, temperatures are dropping down again into the lower twenties that wind at 15 miles an hour making it feel about 10 degrees cooler. Some wind chills, especially north and west might actually wind up at around 11 or 12. We'll see how that all plays out. Wednesday's forecast again. Mainly sunny skies. I think we're probably going to be looking at a few more afternoon clouds developing as those gusty north westerly winds continue to try to drive in some instability to the area. It's cold aloft, it's cold at the surface. The sunshine is going to try to create some cloud coverage as we go through the day. But again, daytime, high temperatures not getting above or not getting to 40 degrees. So that cold air is going to continue to pivot through the Great Lakes in the northeast. We're watching that cold air drop all way down. Even in North Florida, we're looking at a few scattered snow squalls still kind of moving across western sections of Morris County. There's no accumulations. We see the flurries come and go as I like to call them festive flakes getting in the mood for the holidays, waking up tomorrow morning, it is clear, it is quieter but still breezy, we'll have wind chills, that'll make it feel cooler. We see some late day clouds showing up daytime, high temperatures again stuck in the mid thirties and then rolling through the next couple of days from Thursday into Friday, the winds change direction becoming more south westerly. So that's going to bring in more of a Carolina air mass which actually tries to warm us back up. Come Thursday afternoon. Now we're back to normal in the mid to upper forties looking for lower fifties to get us into the upcoming weekend. We're also keeping an eye on Friday going into Saturday. There's a system that's going to be moving in out of the Ohio Valley that will bring some rain showers. Probably late Friday going in a very early Saturday morning as our temperatures stay in the upper forties. I'll have more details on that forecast coming right up.
