State trooper rescues injured bald eagle in Blooming Grove

Trooper Bryan Whalen used his jacket and a K9 trooper’s bite sleeve to corral the eagle and safely put it into a kennel that was provided by the Warwick Valley Animal Rescue.

State trooper rescues injured bald eagle in Blooming Grove
A state trooper rescued an injured bald eagle in Blooming Grove Tuesday. 
State police say a motorist contacted them to report the injured bird on the side of Route 17. 
Trooper Bryan Whalen used his jacket and a K-9 trooper’s bite sleeve to corral the eagle and safely put it into a kennel that was provided by the Warwick Valley Animal Rescue. 
The eagle was then transported to a rehab facility in New Paltz for further care.
