Legislation to get the name of the Mario M. Cuomo Bridge changed back to the Tappan Zee Bridge inched a step closer to becoming reality.
The Democratic sponsored legislation, which was co-sponsored by Republican Bill Weber, passed through the state Senate and now heads to the state Assembly.
"So, with this bill, we seek to right the wrong, of six years ago and restore the Tappan Zee name to our bridge," says Sen. James Skoufis.
Weber says he would like to see the legislation move further and hopefully restore the name to Tappan Zee.
