Ferguson Library in Stamford hosted a Hispanic Heritage Month event on Sunday.
Crisol Acuarela and Grupo Quetzal organized the event that featured live performances that represented different Latin American traditions.
Organizers said the goal of the event was to highlight the social, economic and cultural contributions of Latinas to the Stamford community.
"When they smile, I understand I transfer my culture to them, to the next generation. This is what I am thinking and this is what exactly we want, Quetzal and Crisol Group. We really, really want to transfer our heritage, our culture and our traditions," said Debora Gonzalez, secretary of Grupo Quetzal.
