Spring Valley woman sentenced to 9 years in prison for stabbing village businesswoman
A Spring Valley woman has been sentenced to nine years in prison for stabbing a businesswoman last year.
Evelyn Lopez, 38, was convicted of assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
The Rockland District Attorney’s Office said the victim had just closed her restaurant when Lopez approached her saying she needed medical assistance.
When the victim attempted to help, the defendant proceeded to stab the victim numerous times.
No motive for the stabbing was released.
