A 62-year-old woman was found dead Friday in her sweltering apartment in Spring Valley.

Police came to the Harvest House apartment complex after a report that Yolanda Castillo was ill. By the time police arrived, she was dead. Police say the temperature in the apartment was 110 degrees. There was an air conditioner in the apartment, but it was not working properly and occupied the only window.

Castillo?s 83-year-old husband says his wife had medical problems but he did not realize how sick she was. An autopsy is being performed to determine the exact cause of death.
