Spring Valley fire displaces dozens of residents
Thirty-nine families were displaced after a fire Tuesday ripped through the Park Towers apartment complex on Union Road in Spring Valley.
The fire broke out at 109 Union Ave.
Aaron Lerer, of the Spring Valley Fire Department, said that while a total of six apartments sustained some sort of damage, the entire building is without power.
Fire officials say no one was hurt, but five cats died in the blaze.
Tenants were allowed to go back in their homes Wednesday for a short period of time to collect their belongings.
The building's property manager says smoke is still a major problem inside.

The building inspector says he hopes to have the electricity on by on the end of the week
The cause of the fire is still under investigation, but officials say it doesn't appear to be suspicious.
