Police say a woman went on a Monday morning joyride in a stolen cab and ended up flipping the car over in New Rochelle.

According to police, the woman stole the cab when it was left running on North Avenue at about 6 a.m., but crashed 15 minutes later. Police say the woman was speeding on the Hutchinson River Parkway, even though police were not giving chase.

When the woman attempted to exit on Weaver Street in New Rochelle, the car flipped over. Police say the woman sustained serious injuries and was taken to Sound Shore Medical Center for emergency surgery.

The suspect is likely facing numerous charges.
