Long Island-based business Spectrum Designs Foundation is now expanding into Westchester, giving adults with autism more opportunities for work.
Spectrum Designs Foundation started about seven years ago in Port Washington, Long Island. It is now expanding about 50 miles north to Pleasantville.
The nonprofit employs adults to use their hands in a productive manner and make custom clothes, gourmet treats and promotional items for clients locally and internationally like Uber and Google.
Local organizations supporting those with disabilities look forward to the dozens of jobs the facility will bring to the community.
Spectrum Designs Foundation hopes to open its doors to the community within the first few weeks of January 2020.
