Sources say a man has died after he jumped into the Hudson River to save a child who had fallen into the water.
It happened at the JFK Marina in Yonkers during an annual cookout attended by residents who live along School Street.
Witnesses say a 6-year-old child was seen floating in the water, prompting several people to jump in to save him.
One of the men who jumped in became lost in the water. His body was later recovered, sources say.
The child, whose identity has not been released, has been hospitalized. There are no updates yet on the boy's condition.
