A 16-year-old has been charged in a stabbing that occurred last week on the main campus of Newburgh Free Academy.
An official source says the teen punctured the victim’s lung and attacked his ex-girlfriend during the incident at the corner of South Street and Allison Avenue on Thursday afternoon.
News 12 was told the teen was charged as an adolescent with two counts of assault. The victim was hospitalized but is expected to be OK.
Newburgh Enlarged City School District Superintendent Jackielyn Campbell-Manning issued a statement to parents indicating the stabbing happened after dismissal but has not said if the teen involved is a student.
