Yankees slugger Aaron Judge's 50th home run Monday was major league record for a rookie, and it was also a day that a Somers High School graduate will never forget.
The ball for the record-setting home run against the Royals landed in the left-center field bleachers.  As fans rushed to retrieve it, it found its way into the hands of Dan Zlotnick.

“We saw the ball go up, and it went right into the sun. We lost it for a second, and it bounced and it just kind of scooted around,” he says. “It was the hardest I ever gripped a baseball, and I've choked a lot of baseballs in my life. As we’re looking at it, we see that the model number of his bat is imprinted onto the leather on the ball so that was really cool.”
Zlotnick, who was a star pitcher with the Tuskers, was at the game with a former college teammate.
He said keeping the ball was never a thought, and that the ball meant more to Judge than it would to him.
After the game, Zlotnick and his friend met the Yankee slugger and received an autographed ball and bat.

He said he appreciated the gift from the organization, but what he really wanted was to throw a few pitches from the Yankee Stadium mound.
