Some Yonkers students who used to ride yellow buses to school have to find another way to get to class this year.
An almost 30-year-old busing policy says that if a student lives less than 1 ½ miles from school, he or she is not eligible for the service.
The Yonkers School District says the policy wasn't being enforced, so this year, some kids who used to get buses were pulled from the list.
The district saves $45,000 a year for every van pulled off the road, and $65,000 for a large school bus they don't need.
