Some Yonkers residents say the city has only just cleared their streets Tuesday after Saturday's blizzard. 

Residents on Winfred Avenue say city plows finally showed up in the morning.

"We had a lovely gentleman yesterday ask us if we wanted him to plow, but he didn't have a big truck and we've seen so many trucks get stuck down there," says resident Geraldine Rice.

City officials say the Department of Public Works crews did a good job digging out of more than 20 inches of snow that fell on the city this weekend. But they say there are 450 dead-end streets and cul-de-sacs that are typically cleared last. 

DPW officials say they have contracts with construction vehicle companies, and they'll be bringing in more equipment to help expedite the process. 

Officials urge patience and say residents should give the DPW a call if their streets are still covered.

But some residents say they've already been patient.

"We do pay a lot of taxes in this area," says Lisa Pack. "It is a shame that we have to wait three or four days before we can get the street cleaned."
