Crews are working to repair a sinkhole on Lamartine Avenue in Yonkers Wednesday.
The sinkhole, which appeared Tuesday off North Broadway, has caused severe traffic in the area as it has grown from 2-feet to 6-feet wide.
According to a city engineer, the sinkhole came about because of damage to a 140-year-old sewer pipe. Crews continue to work on the sinkhole, but need supplies that may not arrive for several days.
