Ginuwine will be in the Garden State this weekend! The R&B star is set to perform at the Bergen Performing Arts Center in Englewood on Sunday, Aug. 20 at 8 p.m.
News 12’s Syma Chowdhry interviewed the multi-platinum selling artist about his ties to New Jersey, how his 90s hits are getting some play on social media and attracting a younger audience.
“Ever since the beginning, I try to bring the love. I try to bring the energy. I’m a little older now. A little seasoned. So, I slowed down just a little bit,” he said.
The “Pony” singer has his loyal fans, but he’s also getting some new, younger fans thanks to TikTok.
“My kids come to me and say, ‘Dad, do you know do and so used your music? So and so did this! So and so did that?,’” he said. “I’m happy they are keeping me relevant, definitely getting new fans. It’s a blessing.”
Ginuwine, who used to live in Teaneck, talked about his love for the state and says Jersey fans have “always been my favorite.”
Tickets are still available for Sunday's show. Ticket prices range from $45 to $85. For more information, visit bergenpac.org.
