Students and instructors at Central Park Dance kicked up their heels Saturday to celebrate the studio's re-location from Scarsdale to nearby Hartsdale.
It can take decades of training and hard work to become a professional ballerina, but 13-year-old Abril Carvajal, of Cortlandt Manor, is determined to make it.
"I've done all other styles, it's just that ballet has always been a part of my life since I was very young and it was the first style I took. It always makes me feel  like that's the right place," she said.
Abril is honing her skills and perfecting her talent at the newly-relocated Central Park Dance Studio in Hartsdale. It's a place where students are trained in an encouraging environment.
After more than four decades, the studio recently moved from a space in Scarsdale to a new state of the art facility in nearby Hartsdale.
"Teaching in this community with lovely, beautiful families, watching the children grow and progress through the years, they start out at 2 years old. We're going into our 44th year. Now the children that I taught are now bringing their children," said studio co-owner Maria Bai.
The studio offers classes in ballet, jazz, hip hop, tap and physical fitness and is open seven days a week.
