A Mount Vernon man has been charged with attempted murder in connection with Wednesday night's stabbing at the Irvington train station.
Sidney Brown, 51, is accused of stabbing the mother of his children, Deborah Henry, repeatedly. Brown also harmed himself with a knife. Police eventually Tasered him.
Two orders of protection were filed in court Friday. One for Henry and her children, and the other for Irvington Fire Chief Chris DePaoli.
DePaoli saw the incident as it was happening and was able to stop it from escalating by separating the couple, likely saving the woman's life.
Despite the seriousness of the charge, Brown was laughing during court proceedings.
After the brief court appearance, Brown was taken to Westchester County Jail. His bail has not been set yet.
Henry remains hospitalized in critical condition.
