Sheriff: 8 charged in scheme to traffic drugs into Riverhead Jail

According to the sheriff's office, those charged also used the U.S. Postal Service to traffic the drugs.

The Sheriff's Department says eight people are under arrest and accused of drug trafficking at the Riverhead Jail.
The department says five visitors illegally moved drugs like heroin and marijuana into the facility when visiting three inmates.
According to the sheriff's office, those charged also used the U.S. Postal Service to traffic the drugs.
All of the suspects are now facing over 25 charges combined.
