A Florida man was sentenced to 20 years to life for the 2005 murder of a 25-year-old mother from Yonkers.

Christopher Gonzalez admitted to strangling Angel Serbay, according to the Westchester County District Attorney's Office.

The victim's body was found in a blanket on the shoulder of the Sprain Brook Parkway in Greenburgh.

Serbay's murder went unsolved for years until investigators linked her to the death of 19-year-old Dora Almontaser, who was strangled with a phone cord in the Bronx in 2000.

In 2017, a traffic stop led to the DNA that detectives needed to connect Gonzalez to both cold cases.

He was on the run for 17 years - moving to Florida, getting married and having 3 children.

Last month, Gonzalez was sentenced to 20 years in prison for Del Valle's murder.

Serbay's family and friends were in court today to see justice served in this case. A friend of Serbay told the story of how she was stuck in traffic on the Sprain Brook Parkway the day her friend's body was found, later learning the traffic was caused by her friend's murder investigation. "I had to see a therapist, because I would pull over every day by the shoulder where you dumped her and cry wishing she would come back. You left not one, but two families destroyed, families depressed, and broken hearted," said Teresa Lopez.

A NYPD detective who was instrumental in solving this case said Gonzalez has all the markings of a serial killer, and that this investigation is far from over.
