The state Senate passed a new bill Monday that will help solve animal cruelty cases.
The bill gives SPCA officers access to fingerprints.
Sen. Pete Harckham is sponsoring the bill and says it will help lead to cruelty-related arrests by speeding up the time it takes to find suspects.
The bill is now heading to the state Assembly.
