You do not want to let your guard down over these next few days despite the fact that a fair amount of dry time will be mixed in. After a quick snow shower chance this morning, the rest of the daylight hours will be dry until a period of light steadier snow moves in around 9 p.m. tonight.
Light snow accumulations of mostly under one inch are possible overnight, ending by around 4 a.m. Wednesday. This will be enough to make for a slippery start to Wednesday morning where snow showers occur. The most slippery areas will be north of I-84, but some will be around south of that line as well.
Midday Wednesday temperatures will warm up into the low 40s for most. Along with that though, there can be some gusty mixed off and on rain and snow showers in the afternoon and evening tomorrow. My only concern is that any Wednesday evening snow shower can be in the form of a snow squall, potentially leading to brief dangerous travel for a short time Wednesday evening.
Remember, a snow squall is a brief heavy snow shower paired with strong wind that can limit visibility and allow for a quick coating of snow.
Thursday will be nice, but cold. Friday will mostly be wet with a brief wintry mix changing to all rain with highs in the 40s.
Saturday will be a nice start to the weekend, but there is the chance for a period of light snow and / or mix developing on Sunday with minor accumulation not out of the question.
Have a great Tuesday!
FORECAST:
TODAY: After a brief morning snow shower, the rest of the daylight hours are dry, chilly and windy with a mix of sun and clouds. Highs around 38 degrees will become colder gradually through the afternoon as a cold front comes through.
TONIGHT: A period of light snow arrives towards 9 p.m. and lasts through around 4 a.m. This can lead to minor snow accumulations and some slippery travel for Wednesday morning. Lows around 22 degrees.
WEDNESDAY: A mix of sun and clouds and windy. There will be some spotty mixed gusty rain and snow showers in the afternoon and evening. Highs around 43 degrees. A few snow squalls cannot be ruled out into the evening. This would drop visibility and can drop a coating of snow in a hurry. This will be monitored for potentially dangerous evening commute conditions. Lows around 21 degrees. Drying out overnight.
THURSDAY: Mostly sunny to partly cloudy and cold. Highs around 33 degrees. Lows near 26 degrees.
FRIDAY: Cloudy with a brief mix changing to all rain. Some icy conditions are possible mainly north of I-84. Highs around 44 degrees. Lows near 28 degrees.
SATURDAY: Sun and clouds. Dry. Highs around 35 degrees. Lows near 20 degrees.
SUNDAY: Mostly cloudy with light snow and some possible mix developing. Light snow accumulations possible. Highs around 36 degrees. Lows around 21 degrees.
MONDAY: Partly sunny and breezy. Highs around 40 degrees. Lows near 20 degrees.
