A Rockland County community is coming together in hope of locating a missing dog.
Xena, a 10-pound Yorkshire terrier, has been missing for three weeks. The Lulo family says her disappearance has left a big hole in their hearts.
“Is she OK? Is she alive? Was she attacked by anything?” asks Samantha Lulo, of Thiells.
News 12 is told the 6-year-old female Yorkie ran out of their home through an open garage door on June 27. The dog had a silver and pink collar on.
With each passing day, the family has upped their search on social media. The Lulos say the search has even brought strangers together.
The family is documenting their search, welcoming pet lovers, enlisting a drone search, a psychic and a service called the ‘
Missing Pet Pawlice.’
Community members rallied online to assist in finding Xena by handing out flyers and scouring the internet for missing pet posts.
Maria Lulo says she appreciates the help and hopes Xena will be found.
“We’re hopeful that we will find her,” says Lulo. “I love her so much, and I miss her.”
The Lulos say if anyone has the dog to return her to their home or a local police station with no questions asked.
