Hazmat crews were on the scene Tuesday in Pomona after scientists were exposed to a dangerous chemical at a laboratory.
The incident happened at Barr Laboratories on Quaker Road in Pomona. Officials say a scientist was mixing the chemical potassium cyanide when some of it splashed up onto his face. Two other scientists also came into contact with the hazardous and potentially lethal chemical.
All three scientists were rushed to Nyack Hospital for treatment. All three are now in stable condition.
Four firefighters had to be decontaminated at the scene while cleaning up. Federal inspectors will likely be at the laboratory Wednesday.
