A Mount Vernon city garbage collector is facing charges this morning after tossing a trash can at a taxi, according to police.
Authorities say Kris Upton was on the job yesterday morning when he tossed a garbage can at South 8th Avenue and Kingsbridge Road. They say it hit a baby inside the taxi, hurting the child's eye and ankle.
Upton is now facing multiple charges and is suspended from his job.
In a statement, Mount Vernon Richard Thomas's office says they "have a zero tolerance policy for violence in the workplace, either by city employees or members of the public."
