Tuesday’s intense wind has made getting around, especially by public transit tough. For a group of friends from Montgomery, the most memorable part of their day trip to New York City was before they even boarded the train in Beacon.
Commuters waiting for midday Hudson line trains held on to one another to fight being tossed around by intense wind gusts. The Montgomery friend group was waiting for their 11:02 AM train when a gust tore through.
"You have to bundle up," one from the group said. "As you can tell, our blowouts are ruined."
Several News 12 interviews were ruined too. Wind dominated both audio tracks, rendering much of the material unusable.

Commuting by car was certainly better for commuters' hair – plus mid-Hudson highways were mostly incident-free as of 5 p.m. with exceptions of a car off the road near Port Jervis and a tree on a road in Dover.
The state issued high wind advisories for all bridges south of Saugerties and banned semitrucks and empty box trucks from crossing the Newburgh-Beacon Bridge for several hours.
Train commuter Harrison Thomas of Fishkill seemed unphased. He attributes his ability to manage the wind to his outfit – denim from head to toe.
"I'm chilling," Thomas said. "I'm in all denim and it's wonderful. It's wonderful and it doesn't look dumb, despite what they say. All denim? It's a great way to keep warm."
