A Catholic high school in Rockland County is honoring the memory of NYPD Officer Randolph Holder, who was shot and killed in the line of duty Tuesday night.
A special flag is flying outside Albertus Magnus High School in Bardonia for Holder. The officer was shot in the head as he responded to calls of shots fired and a bicycle stolen at gunpoint. Holder and his partner chased the suspect, who opened fire.
Students, faculty and staff at the school traditionally include fallen police officers and firefighters in their daily prayers.
Special flags will be flown on poles in front of the school and behind it.
