yesterdayA Rockland man is facing charges for breaking a NJ Transit conductor’s jaw in Port Jervis this month.
Authorities say 22-year-old Damarion Gully repeatedly punched the conductor in the face with his fist and used a railroad padlock to assault the victim during the attack on Sept. 7.
“This brazen attack on a citizen at their workplace is an affront to the fundamental values of our community,” said Port Jervis Police Chief William Worden. “This conduct will never be accepted, and will be met with a swift, thorough, and certain law enforcement response that will not rest until all involved persons are held accountable.”
Gully was arrested by Clarkstown police in West Nyack and transported to Orange County after a multi-agency investigation. He was charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.
Two underage teens were also charged in the violent incident earlier this month.
Gully is in Orange County Jail on $7,500 cash bail, $25,000 bond, or $50,000 partially secured bond.
