Family and friends of victims gathered for a moving ceremony at Rockland County's 9/11 memorial today.
Ceremonies at Haverstraw Bay Park lasted a little more than an hour as dozens remembered the 80 Rockland residents who died in the attacks 14 years ago.
For many, the pain is just as real as it was 14 years ago. "A lot of times people remember the date, but don't remember what people went through that day. It's hard for us to forget. My life would have been totally different," says Chery Alonso, who lost her sister Janet.
In addition to the 80 names on the monument, the name of Robert Kirkpatrick is also inscribed on the monument. Kirkpatrick died in the first attack on the World Trade Center in 1993.
