Rockland firefighters en route to deliver hundreds of presents and gift cards to tornado victims
Over the past two weeks, the Piermont and Nyack fire departments have collected more than 500 gifts to send to impacted families.

63ds agoA Nyack firefighter is on his way to Kentucky to deliver presents and thousands of dollars’ worth of gift cards to victims of the recent tornadoes.
Over the past two weeks, the Piermont and Nyack fire departments have collected more than 500 gifts to send to impacted families.
Mike Packes, along with his family and others, are travelling today to deliver them in person.
Packes says it’s important to come together in times of tragedy. "You know, I look back to 9/11 days - and I was a responder there and everybody came to us."
Packes and his family will take the toys to a fire department in Kentucky where the firefighters will help distribute them to families who need a little more cheer this year.
