There's new a push in Rockland County to pass the "The Sparkler Act," which will allow the sale and use of sparklers in the county.
Last year, New York State legalized the sale of fireworks for counties who opted in. The act allows the sale and use of sparkers around certain holidays such as July 4th and New Year's Eve.
Putnam County opted in, but discussions stalled among Westchester lawmakers.
The Rockland County legislature will meet tomorrow night for a public hearing to discuss the bill.
