A woman known as the "Rockland County Coupon Queen" is turning away from her financial savings and is now helping others in need of food.
Anna De Souza says after debating a food distributor about throwing out some bread on a store's shelves, she took the loaves herself, and distributed them to those in need.
"If I see people taking food off the shelves I'll say where is that food going and what are you doing with it? I can't see food being thrown out," says De Souza.
She says she plans to visit grocers all over the country to take food past its shelf life from stores and get it into the hands of those in need.
News 12 is told that the food was expected to make its way to a Rockland church on Monday.
