Rockland County Executive Ed Day is asking the state Public Service Commission to provide a final determination on the impact low water pressure issues had in fighting a fatal fire in Spring Valley in 2021.
Spring Valley firefighter Jared Lloyd and a resident at the Evergreen Court Home for Adults died in the blaze.
Crews had to stretch hoses more than two-thirds of a mile during the fire to find a hydrant with sufficient water pressure to fight the flames.
In a letter to the commission's secretary, Day says he is making his request respectfully but vigorously.
In a statement to News 12 last week, the PSC staff says they are in the process of finalizing a report to determine what, if any responsibility, Suez Water has in relation to the fire.
They note that Suez has been cooperative during the investigation but a date has not been set when the report will be finalized.
