The Rockland community paid tribute to the nine people killed during last week's Charleston church shooting.
More than 100 people gathered at Memorial Park for a candlelight vigil for the victims of the shooting.
The Nyack Clergy Association said prayers and choir music honored the nine people shot and killed one week ago at the Emanuel AME Church.
Dylann Roof, 21, has been charged with their murders. He told investigators that he wanted to start a race war.
Organizers say the evening's vigil was about healing, forgiveness and hope for the future.
