A Rockland business that builds opportunities for people with disabilities celebrated its one-year anniversary Thursday.
"Brick It Again" is a Lego and Duplo resale store started by Jawonio, a nonprofit that supports people in the Hudson Valley area with disabilities.
Since the business opened it's doors in Valley Cottage one year ago, it employs up to 10 people while others learn work experience, new skills and even volunteer.
Customers can donate, buy or build and even have birthday parties in the store.
"To give them these opportunities to work, to learn work related skills, it's meant so much to so many of them," said the nonprofit's Randi Rios-Castro.
"We are creating this space for the individuals to realize their dreams and live their full potential," said Jawonio's Sara Trowers.
Local politicians gave proclamations declaring the day "Brick It Again Day."
