Rock icon ‘Southside Johnny’ announces retirement from touring

The 76-year-old Neptune native says he wants to focus on managing ongoing health issues.

New Jersey rock ‘n’ roll icon John Lyon, also known as “Southside Johnny,” announced he is retiring from touring after 50 years.
The 76-year-old Neptune native says he wants to focus on managing ongoing health issues.
With his retirement, Southside Johnny and the Asbury Jukes’ New Year’s Eve performance at the Count Basie Center for the Arts in Red Bank has been canceled.
Tickets will be returned at the point of purchase.
