A group of veterans is riding to raise awareness of the difficulties and struggles of wounded war veterans once they arrive home.
Some of the veterans participating in the 'Ride 2 Recovery' are wounded themselves, including amputees with specially outfitted bicycles.
The group is cycling 350 miles from Boston to New York City.
Supporters cheered the group Thursday as they held flags along East Railroad Avenue in front of Babes Bar and Grill in West Haverstraw.
The group timed the ride to coincide with Sept. 11 and a national time of remembrance.
