State police say they have arrested a man in Orange County for allegedly having illegal guns and impersonating a federal agent.
Investigators say Richard DeRosa, 41, of Long Island, posed as an investigator for the government and tried to set up a meeting to purchase a handgun.
The sale allegedly went down in the parking lot of a McDonald's restaurant on Route 208 in Montgomery. When investigators later learned DeRosa wasn't who he claimed to be, they recovered numerous weapons from DeRosa's home.
DeRosa's being held on $10,000 at the Orange County Jail.
